Blizzer
and things to come
Snow. Snow. Snow. It is snowing again as I write this.
As I was heaving heavy ice blocks onto 4 foot drifts this morning I thought to myself, this is my fault. Earlier this winter I said, “I hope we get a lot of snow this year.” Well, here we are. You’re welcome.
I heard my son talking about the blizzard yesterday and for a brief moment, thought he said “blizzer.” This would be right in line with other names and characters created in the Auggie-verse, so I quickly imagined a snow creature: yeti-like, yet wispier and benevolent, despite encompassing it’s surrounds with debilitating amounts of wind and snow…a symbolic force of nature.
When the Blizzer arrives, it’s best not to fight. Take cover and rest up. This too shall pass.
I have more than usual to share this year and I’ve honestly been a little paralyzed in knowing how to do so without overwhelming you all, and myself. I have 3 books coming out in 2026, two of which are from my new series, Robin’s World. The third is this one right here:
Angela just wrote about Snow Geese Season over on her Substack, The Slow Hello. I’m immensely proud of what Angela and I created together. You can preorder a copy at your favorite bookshop or get one signed by me:
And now a teaser for something that will surely have a dedicated post soon - a party!
In the meantime, stay safe, stay warm. Spring will be here soon.

Blizzer!! I love! Thinking of you and loving yours and Angela’s geese.
I love the Blizzer! Maybe be a little more specific with those "lots of snow" wishes in the future. 😆
